SCR technology has already been successfully installed on more than 800 ships worldwide, helping them to reduce their NOx output by up to 95%. SCR technology can be applied to any diesel ship engine from supply vessels and tankers to yachts and ferries.

Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR and Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction (SNCR) technologies can be adapted to suit a wide array of different customer needs. SCR’s and SNCR's have successfully reduced NOx emissions from power plants, biomass boilers, cement factories, glassworks and incinerators.
The process works in the same way as the marine and truck application but on a much larger scale. For this type of SCR system, ammonia water is usually favoured due to its higher ammonia content. Ammonia water is more efficient, however, it is a higher risk product which deems it unsuitable for the maritime or transport application.
When used in a controlled environment such as a power plant or refinery, it can be easily controlled so that a more efficient NOx reduction can take place. The SNCR system is usually fuelled with a urea solution which can be blended on-site or received in bulk deliveries depending on consumer requirements. ECOUREA has a lot of expertise in this area and actively works with customers to ensure that the best solution is adapted for the job.
ECOUREA also offers SOx package's with the availability of the necessary reagents to operate scrubbers facilitating SOx abatement.
