Marine & off-shore
ECOUREA offers SCRs to new-build marine vessels. We can also retrofit to existing vessels. This enables our customers to reduce emissions and operate in accordance with local regulations in a robust, reliable and cost-effective way.
SCR technology has already been successfully installed on more than 800 ships worldwide, helping them to reduce their NOx output by up to 98%. SCR technology can be applied to any diesel ship engine from supply vessels and tankers to yachts and ferries.
ECOUREA’s Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) and Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction (SNCR) technologies can be adapted to suit a wide range of different customer needs. Both SCRs and SNCRs have successfully reduced NOx emissions from power plants, biomass boilers, cement factories, glassworks and incinerators.
The process works in the same way as the marine and truck application, but on a much larger scale. For this type of SCR system, ammonia water is usually preferred, due to its higher ammonia content.
When used in a controlled environment such as a power plant or refinery, the technology can be easily controlled so that a more efficient NOx reduction can take place. The SNCR system is usually fuelled with a urea solution which can be blended on-site or received in bulk deliveries depending on customer requirements.
